I just got my pond full after an extended drought. The pond dam was built in solid clay but it was dry. Probably should of waited but didn't find this site till I was halfway done with it lol. It seems to lose about and inch a day. Is this normal? Will it eventually seal up? Ive got pics on the gallery, don't know how to get them on here. The empty pic shows my truck. It is about 2-3 foot deeper than that. I welcome any advice I can get.

Yeah, the water is wicking back into the previously dry soils. No sweat.

However, pure clay has been known to crack when it gets totally dry.

I did an alum test in a jar. It was as clear as drinking water in 24 hours. I ordered 200 pounds from a chemical place and it will be here next week. I hope to get started with fish soon.
