I have about a one acre pond that is short on watershed area. Fortunately it's pretty deep and has a well sealed bottom. When I bought the place the only thing in it was bullheads. A few years ago I threw in about 20 hammer handle sized LMB from one of my other ponds. I figured everything but the bullies had died out because of the low water level and the amount of ice during the winter. On Saturday one of the neighbor kids caught this. 22 inches. Still can't believe it.

Yeah, my daughter and SIL who live on the place said they used to see the black clouds of baby bullheads, but they don't see them anymore. Guess now we know why.

Beautiful bass! Shows that even smaller BOW can grow big LMB if they have plenty of forage.

Who knew bullheads make good forage?
