Very nice hybrids! Fluridone is very effective... What are you using it to kill?
Absolutely everything within the scope of it's abilities, but mostly pondweed right now. I know...a pond totally denuded of vegetation is not what we advocate for here on the forum. And I know there are other chemical options effective on PW. But, this is going in the HBG pond, and a very critical component of my management strategy revolves around virtually eliminating recruitment of these fish. I want no cover whatsoever if possible.
My last fluridone treatment gave me that for two full years, on one single, simple, easy application. No water restrictions, we swam in it everyday, no danger of a fishkill. I don't want any hiding spots for yoy HBG, my goal is to make the predators' job easier.
And yes, the FA will adore it's competition free environment. But I have Aquashade and Cutrine plus for that. I know that a large segment of the membership prefers a natural pond setting, with minimal intervention. But I'm at the other end of the spectrum....whatever I can remove out of mother nature's hands and place under my control, so much the better.
George, I was a huge fan of the old Accardo line of "Miss Prissy" popping bugs. When Accardo went out and the supply dried up, I began searching for a replacement. I found it in the bug you see here, available at Breambugs.com. I usually fish these on a custom spinning rod built from a 2 weight fly rod blank...loads of fun!
