Pond Boss
Looking for advice, I have free access to a 6,500lb mini ex with 24” bucket. I have seen YouTube videos of guys digging “deep” I’m guessing 3-5’ holes right off the shore with mini excavators. My pond is about 2’ down right now so easy to see where adding a little depth in areas could help? I am not thinking of doing this near the damn.

So my questions guys and gals...is this smart, stupid, or a waist of time?
My concern would be for people that might be wading in the water. One wrong step and down they go.

Other than that I think the holes would be a good ambush spot for predators.
Wading isn’t really an issue with my family, I think about as far as I could reach out is 9’ so with slope more likely 7’.

My kids have lots of luck catching blue gills a few feet from shore in summer, also I see bass right at shore edge eating mayflies too. Right now those area are above the water with our current drought.
