Happy belated Dono. If ya want a break from that swelterin weather up there, your welcome to visit down here in Fl. The fishin is non existant due to the Red tide. So far this yr they have removed 16 tons of fish from Seista key which is 8 miles long. The dead fish have stopped washin up on the beach because there no more to wash up.

Hey man, wanted to be sure Dono got the point. Also some folks(Sunil) are a bit dense and have to be told twice. You didn't need two commas, skip the one, behind jeez,

Wow great to see this logging in today. We were deer hunting this past week. Yes we do have about an 1"s of good clear ice on the pond. The air stations in the shallows are keeping two holes open.

We feed our perch till mid Oct. so it is just about impossible to catch them through the ice. They just don't need to eat.

I have had a few cracks at a mink that has decided to make our pond his home this winter. Hoping he is eating and catching the shiners and chub not our perch.

Sorry to hear about the fishing in Florida. Is this a normal cycle or climate change?

Again everyone thanks, such a surprise today. Cheers.

Dono, the red tide is an algae and it just happens whenever. There are records of the native people telling the Spanish explorers in the 1600s of a red water that kills the fish and birds. Kinda like forest fires, earthquakes, hurricanes, etc. The last bad occurrence was in 2005 which lasted 18 months. I started coming down here in 2008 and the fishin was fine. Nature has a way of healing natural catastrophes, the man induced are more problematic. Part of the problem is that yrs ago the gov decided to change the flow of water throughout the state to enable cattle ranchers and sugar cane farms to expand their available acerage. Also as the population swelled all of the retirees and golf clubs wanted pretty lawns so they heavily fertalizing. Same problem as the lakes up north have to deal with. It mostly washes into the waters somewhere.
How did ya do huntin?
