Lovnlivin, Excellent choice!!! I love watching people tapping their fingers and toes the first time they ever heard Dixie Chicken (and I play it whenever I get a chance) .

The worst song in the history of recorded music: HONEY, by Bobby Goldboro
Okay, I admit defeat on this one. What's the procedure to embed a video?
First, find the video online, like at YouTube. Then right click and click "copy video URL".
Then, you'll need to do a full reply, you'll see square blue icon and that will allow you to directly post a video from 1 of 4 formats. It will say "Enter a media tag" when you mouse over it.
I use to play music at parties, and you play this song for a bunch of 80's high school headbangers at a huge party, better watch out, because the fist's are flying! Toss up some Motley Crue or something like that after and they all calm down.
As a product of the 80's, I'm a big fan of classic metal...AC/DC, Metallica, Ozzy, etc. That's what plays in the shop. But, on those rare instances when I can relax and just take in the story, I enjoy listening to John Prine. This song is one of my favorites.
I try to get a mix of every thing but I can really go back early. Rudy Valley--"My Time Is You Time", Gene Autry, Sons Of The Pioneers--Tumble Weed", The Andrew Sisters, "Bell Bottom Trousers Coat of Navy Blue", Patty Page--"How Much Is That Doggy In The Window", Tressia Brewer--"Put Another Nickle In", Walt Whitman--Indian Love Call, Joanne James.
Don't mean to be insensitive to anyone, but you need to Bang your Head once in a while!
Went to my nephews grad party yesterday. Gave him a card with a wad of cash in it and Welcomed him to the Jungle! I already played that one tho, but what the heck!
Talked to a couple guy's that worked at the digester while at my nephews party, and it was no...
Oh Crap! It was a long term thing for us guy's tossing decibel meters on the floor to comply with OSHA reg's and as long as it wasn't as loud as a KISS Concert, we were cool! But who really checks these things?
Kiss would punch it up a tad, but it was always crisp.
Great music shared here. Big Genesis, Yes, Rush, Pink Floyd fan here. Just purchased Steve Hackett Genesis Revisted II, which is excellent! They even took on Suppers Ready and nailed it. Highly recommend it. Lately I have been listening to a local station 90.5 WBER which is a not for profit educational station. Volunteer DJs pick the music so I can hear some new rock and releases. They stream online if anyone is interested. Lots of good new music out there, just so very rare to have an entire new album be good. David Gray being about the only one I can say the whole album was good. Mostly 2 or so songs for most artists lately, so I have not been buying much.
Excellent concert at the Castle in Charlevoix. This ain't it, but as close I can get. They opened for Aerosmith, which really put on a great performance. I had 18 people up here. A few went home after the concert, but a bunch of us drove around the UP for a few more days.
Do you know how AC/DC got their band name? Most think it's something evil like anti Christ and some other crap, but it's from a universal motor that will run on either AC or DC voltage/current, actually a sewing machine motor. That's how they got their name. Sis said it's AC/DC and it stuck.
OK, you AC/DC fans... What is the name of the song that has the bagpipes wailing all the way through? That is my favorite AC/DC song but haven't been able to catch the name.
It is hard for a guy who saw The Beatles in concert in 1965 at age 15 and has enjoyed music for years before and many (OK, MANY) years later to have less than 145 favorites. These happen to be my Workout Tunes as well.

I know what you mean Dwight. I've had hundreds of albums, tapes and CD's over the years and been to many concerts as well, which a few I only remember being there.
All the media I had, as well as some equipment, grew legs over several occasions and only have a couple recent purchase/gift CD/DVD's now.
I'm having a problem with my tools growing legs now
Anyway, I think it was 1981 when I saw 38 Special in GR. Great show. This is one of my favorites:
This song has always been a favorite of mine. I was introduced to it, like I'm sure many were, by the Darling family (including bluegrass legends The Dillards) off of the old Andy Griffith TV Show. The NGDB do it up right, with a fourth verse I am not familiar with. This tune just speaks to me this morning.
There are way too many by Waylan and Willie, Johnny Cash, The Statler Brothers, The Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin -- just to name a few. And what can compare to the Beatles and Elvis hits?
What about Charlie on the MTA by the Kingston Trio? Did he ever return? His fate is still unlearned.
Or, for those of us who got drafted in the 60s - Alice's Restaurant.

I wanted to feel like . . . I wanted to be the All-American Kid from New York), and I walked in, sat down, I was hung down, Brung down, hung up and all kinds of mean, nasty, ugly things.
And I walked in, I sat down, they gave me a piece of paper that said: "Kid, See the psychiatrist in room 604."
I went up there, I said, "Shrink, I want to kill. I want to kill! I want to see Blood and gore and guts and veins in my teeth! Eat dead, burnt bodies! I Mean: Kill. Kill!"
And I started jumpin' up and down, yellin' "KILL! KILL!" and he started Jumpin' up and down with me, and we was both jumpin' up and down, yellin', "KILL! KILL! KILL! KILL!" and the sergeant came over, pinned a medal on me, Sent me down the hall, said "You're our boy". Didn't feel too good about it.
Amazing to watch the 3 living members of Led Zeppelin in some weird way "watch themselves" and obviously become emotional about what they created so long ago. (Yes that is Robert Plant with a tear in his eye at the 4:34 mark) What I would have given to be in that room and experience these few minutes of love and appreciation for one of the greatest rock and roll songs ever written.
Rush is an all time favorite. Can't remember how many tapes wore out, but tossing a keg on the back of my snowmobile and heading out to the middle of nowhere was always a fun time. Drove my 72 Cuda way out back one winter into a field by a creek for a party. I had the keg on my sled, but the Kazoo claws on the track had a different idea. Got it home, tossed the keg in the Cuda, and hit the snow.
Yeah, at least 10+ people helped me push it up hill thru the snow while in gear, and I just jumped in and never looked back getting out of there.
I'm w/JKB. Anything Rush is amazing. Their last album Clockwork Angels was stellar!!! Heckuva concert too. While I'm lovin Canada, gotta include Triumph and April Wine.
Best album ever--Meat Loaf Bat out of Hell. II and III pretty darn good too.
Gotta give it up to Illinois' big 3--Styx, REO, and Cheap Trick. RIP Gary Richrath.
Kudos to Kansas.
Best "new" band for me--Winery Dogs
What amazes me is how well the old acts still perform. For instance, we saw Bob Seger awhile back, and he put on an incredible 3 hour show.
What amazes me is how well the old acts still perform.
Agreed I saw the Stones, ZZ Top, Motley Crue/Alice Cooper in the last few months and they were all outstanding.
The Stones really caught me by surprise. I was expecting a less than stellar show because of their advancing ages. Boy was I surprised! They had the entire Dallas Cowboys Stadium on their feet.
Have not been to a concert in a long time. Not that many venues up here and I will not drive to Detroit! That place sucks!!!
I use to watch a lot of youtube concerts with my cell as a hot spot to my laptop. The service is more than fast enough to provide a good experience.
One day I stopped at the shop (rarely went there in the past) and boss was reviewing the AT&T bill and said I sucked out +29GB of air time on the 30GB limit before extra charges are added. Wondered why, and I just said those training videos can get intense
My folks, my brother and his family and myself went to visit our aunt and cousins in Evergreen, CO.
With their deck overlooking Mt. Evans, blessed with beautiful sunny days, and sunsets over the mountains, the mood was just right for entertaining the fam and getting in some quality time with my talented brother!
Gittin' our jam on with some Neil Young, CSN, Simon and Garfunkel, everything else we could think of, and of course some blues
Unfortunately, moments like this are few and far between, but cherished every time we get the chance.
Awesome family man! Enjoy those moments. Took my niece singing karoke (Sp?) in Thailand. She made me get up on the stage with her. She is still talking about it! Cherish those moments!
Wow, Zep! Awesome version of "Old Man" that I've never heard!
Neil Young is who inspired me to start playing the harp back in the 80's. We played that song all 3 nights in Evergreen along with many others by Neil.
Thanks for sharing, awesome! He was just here in Lincoln but I didn't get a chance to go, but the reviews were raving!
Don't ask, but seeing you may be curious. This girl I knew, this was her favorite song and loved Karaoke, so I agreed to practice with her, and quite frankly, we did pretty well when up. Wouldn't ever do that again tho, but it worked at the time.
Some people think AC/DC was named for some diabolical evil purpose, but the universal sewing machine motor that they actually got their band name from might argue with you a bit
