Dang old goat made it another year.
Happy Birthday Buddy.
Happy birthday, and thanks for all the help.
Got a funny story about Catmandoo, but I have to wait a bit to let it loose.
Happy Birthday Cat It was great being with you and the kitten
Still young enough to make it a chore to catch you going up that hill Ken! Haha! Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday, little brother. Hope you have a great day.
PS - I heard that there's a dead raccoon in a ditch 1/4 mile down the street...
So Ken's wife, Lynda, has an idea to get a PB T-shirt and Hat signed by as many as we could for Ken's birthday, as a surprise.
I got a bunch of signatures and then left the hat & shirt in the Mod Booth.
Several times, over two days, Ken was sitting right next to the hat and shirt.
On Saturday, I went up to Kan and said we were all signing a hat to give to Lusk, and would Ken "sign for Lusk."
So, Ken says yes, and proceeds to sign "Bob Lusk" on his own hat!
I told him that was not what we were looking for, and to sign his own name, so he proceeded to write "Catmandoo" on it, not knowing the hat was for him.
It was truly great to see Catmandoo and Lynda again at the Conference. If you haven't met these two great people - do it at your first opportunity. Happy Happy Birthday Ken!!!!!!!!!
Note to Ken: who do you suppose put the "Happy Bday Geezer" line on the T-shirt.
Stories about Cat -- say it's not so. He will have to share the one about the nudist colony he joined !!!
Ken, it was great to meet you and all, and by the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
Ken and Lynda, it was great seeing you again. Ken, Happy Birthday!
Ken, I asked about your room number because Sunil wanted to have Lynda sign the hat and shirt without you seeing it. She was there while you were at the conference.
Happy birthday, Ken, You are entering a new phase of life. At least you don't have to worry about calling your urologist about a problem lasting over 4 hours. Come see me when you can. 103 crappie this weekend.
Have a great one, Ken - good to see you at the Conference.
Oooh boy! Where do I start?
We are at our son's and DIL's home in Edmond, OK today. Lynda brought out a wrapped box for me at breakfast this morning. We had agreed that I wasn't supposed to get anything this day, as I'd gotten a new laptop just before heading to PB-V.
What a surprise to open the box -- especially, to see the hat! I'm certainly glad I'm somebody who can laugh at himself. This was quite a moment. (If you didn't see Sunil's post above, read it and you'll understand.)
It is just one more thing to make me really appreciate my Pond Boss friends. When I look at the names on the hat and shirt, it really makes me feel like a king -- actually better! You are real true friends. To have this happen in conjunction with PB-V is priceless.
And -- I didn't join the nudist colony!
Thanks all.
Ken
Happy Birthday, Ken!
Hope your trip and day was great!!! look in the armpit for my signature...
Happy Birthday Ken
I can't wait to meet you & Lynda. Dave has told me so much about the both of you
Enjoy your day!
Mongo & Joni
Happy Birthday Ken. I just laughed so loudly at the thought of you signing your own shirt I scared the dog sleeping under my desk. What a crew.
Happy Birthday Ken!
Big times ahead...full steam ahead!
While I'm new around here I love to read what you have to say and most times I learn a thing or two.
With that said hope you had a happy birthday from the far side of the world.
Ken,
Sorry I missed you at PondCon V; Happy Birthday!
Thanks all. We met a lot of people at the conference we hadn't met in person before -- but we still missed a few.
We just got back, having been gone almost two weeks. We were 27 miles short of 3000 miles on this trip.
Turning 65 was good. It was the best birthday I've ever had.
We went deep into the Chequamegon wilderness on a duck hunting and smallmouth fishing trip for my 18th birthday, but forgot the oars for the boat. I got my induction notice to be a happy member of the Marine Corps on my 21st birthday (Dodged the draft instead! Did six years in the Navy). I missed my 25th birthday completely by going over the international date line.
Yes, this was good indeed, and very rememberable -- especially the part that Sunil played.
Ken
Lynda gets all credit! Her idea, I was merely a vessel, or a shepherd, or...whatever!
Good times!
Happy Biirthday Ken!! Bring the shirt, Todd with his Black Rifle, and I will dot the I in my name and aerate the left pit of your shirt for ya!
Rainman, Ken's shirt is not made of PVC, so I question your ability to make good on your claim.
I'm just hoping he doesn't want me wearing it when he dots the ‘i‘.
I'm just hoping he doesn't want me wearing it when he dots the ‘i‘.
Don't worry Ken, he'll miss, but may just cause you to utter a few words in an unknown language
BTW: Where is Todd?
Rainman, Ken's shirt is not made of PVC, so I question your ability to make good on your claim.
I'm just hoping he doesn't want me wearing it when he dots the ‘i‘.
I was originally going to suggest placing a PVC fleck where the "I" is wanted and the shirt be worn in the post, but hey...it was your birthday!....
Cat..at least I didn't suggest dotting the "i" on your hat......
Älä ammu uudestaan! Jos et ole, en tee kala päätä muhennos. (In the language of my mother's distant cousin, Lauri Rapala.)
Todd is busy panicking. I talked to him for quite a while by phone just after we arrived at the conference. His building project at the ponds isn't going quite as well as he had hoped -- and he has a big party scheduled there next weekend. Plus, law enforcement has apparently kept a lot fewer drunks on the roads of WV these days, and that is keeping him extremely busy.
Now I'm hungry. Time to go make some mind and body warming kalamojakka (
mojakka).
I'm getting ready for some Head Cheese Chips-n-Cheese! Fantastic!!!
