A few months back, a friend placed a Masterbuilt digitally-controlled "smokehouse" at my backdoor. I love the thing, but twice I was unable to get it to operate. The digital display showed "EAAF." The manual doesn't say what that means. Digging on the Internet, I found that if the internal temperature is less than 20 degrees, the unit will not operate. If you warm up the thermostat, which looks like a quarter or nickle glued to the inside-left-rear panel, it will start! I warmed it up with a sponge I'd soaked in hot water. It worked!

Six pounds of trout are in the smoker, getting ready for Christmas day appetizers.

"EAAF" errors mean, "Oh we didn't think of that!".

Sounds like someone got the control logic messed up on that one!

Dwight,
You are quite the multitasker grin

Is that Dragon by chance?

Off to Dad's house now for Christmas Dinner. Gonna be some good eats with more great memories!

BTW: we are at 42F with no snow/ice, nothing! Nice breeze coming off of Lake Michigan just to the west.

Ducks in the pond out back are just plain noisy with my windows being open and all. But I love the fresh air!
