They do have a slightly sweeter taste than the white ones. They are not quite as productive as the white or the red ones. White carrots and white asparagus, sounds like a real meal.
I found some of those colored taters at a farmer's roadside stand last year, except they were blue. Offered to bring the mashed potatoes to that Sunday's get together at the in-laws. The looks they got were priceless, tasted good too . The little kids really loved them.

Love this thread. Makes me feel like my 4 year old son is actually going to like stuff like this when he gets older because he starts almost every day with oatmeal that we drop a little food dye in to color it either blue, red, or yellow! Purple mashed potatoes will be a natural for him!
