Hey Gator, Rocky, Chris and you other guys that have been building E/N Central Texas fences, what cost/mile are you running into?
Four wire bob-wire/T-posts?
Goat wire?
High fenced?
Our fence is a four wire/ T post fence. I am not sure on costs though. I will have to find that out for you.
The logger that cleared the fence row is also building the fence. He is using the money from the logged trees for materials and labor.
George,
I just built 1 1/4 mile barbed wire fence, 5 wire, with 2 3/8 inch drill stem every 10 T Post,including corners and 2 gates for $8,500.
fishinglthm, materals only or include labor costs?
thanx
Here is some fencing you can have for free. You can even use my trailer to haul it.

Give it to Brettski. It ought to stop leaves and debris from running down his ditches. He has an aversion to brush piles.
George,
That was material and labor. I am still using some of the pellet flies that you taught James and I to tie at the convention. What a blast!
George, You may what to do some reading on High Tinsel fencing. I have found it some what less expensive and it is slick wire so it it easy to put up.

George I haven't built a new fence in over 12 years but I think the price around these parts is 1.25 to 1.30 per foot for a 5 strand barbed wire with welded braces and line post ever 100 ft which is consistent with what fishinglth just spent.
The $1.25 or so per ft. sounds about what I paid. However, with the increased price of metal, it could go higher now.
