Okay, folks..here are the finalists. None of them really grab me, so please pitch in and throw some thoughts out here. The title needs to be short, insightful and catchy. While I think "The Pond and Lake Construction Guide" will bring sales, it's a little too dry to suit me. I really like "Perfect Pond, Want One?" but it doesn't really drive the point home. "Liquefy your Land" is great, but incomplete. Maybe a combination. Let me know, I want to finish this tonight. Decision will be made by 10 pm c.s.t.

"Successful Pond Construction"

"Pond Construction 101"

"Building your dream pond step by step"

"Walking on Water: Engineering the perfect pond"

"Complete guide to lake and pond construction"

“Building a Pond or Lake to Last a Lifetime”

"Delete Dirt, Insert Water: The Complete Guide to Pond & Lake Construction"

"Liquefy Your Land-A Pond & Lake Construction Guide"

"Dream Pond Perfection"

"From Dirt to Water"

"Perfect Pond, Want One?"

"Creating dream ponds"

"The land, The plan, The pond"

"The Pond and Lake Construction Guide"

"Building the Perfect Pond"

How about a combo

Creating A Dream
"Building the Perfect Pond"

or

Creating A Dream
"Your complete guide to lake and pond construction"

"The land, The plan, The perfect pond”
"From Dirt to Water: The Complete Pond and Lake Construction Guide"

---------------------------------------------------

"Liquefy Your Land" could cause trouble in places like San Bernadino.

"Land, Plan - Perfect Pond"
"Heaven In Earth"
The guide to building your pond
EXCAVATING A JEWEL

THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE TO POND AND LAKE CONSTRUCTION
...this would get the "google" words in there, with a little more flair. Honestly, I like every one of the possibilities listed above. The content of the book will be the one truly important selling point. The title's just like a cherry on top.
My vote goes to "The Commissioner" :

"Complete guide to lake and pond construction"
sorry bob, cant help you....i still like mine \:\) but am guessing it's too long, its a very subjective thing, and i agree with bruce and others that one should probably consider the internet search aspect to reach all possible sales goals.

Trophy Ponds
I think the title needs to be short and catchy at the top of the cover, then the catch phrase with all the google words at the bottom of the cover page.

For example, I am looking at a book titled "Blue Ocean Strategy" at the top, with the catch phrase at the bottom, "How to create uncontested market space and make the competition irrelevant."

Catchy...

Here's another at hand, "The Weather Makers" at the top, but at the bottom it says, "How Man is changing the climate and what it means for life on Earth."

Catchy...

Bob Lusk - Pressure is on, 10PM CST is approaching rapidly \:\)

I am surprised that "Broke Back Pond" or "An Inconvenient Pond" didn't bubble up as possible titles..............
The princess Debbie is telling me to sleep on it. I am ready to decide. Since I sleep with the princess, she wins. I will sleep on it, and decide first thing manana....but I have pretty much made up my mind. Sleeping on it is wise...I yield to the princess. Sweet dreams, dear friends...decision first thing tomorrow.

I'll buy a copy no matter what the title is. If it's anything like the magazine it will be a big success. I need mine signed. ;\)

I'm sure we all know that no matter what the final title is, Sunil will be the one to get his copy first. Bruce's copy will remain in the post office for at least 3 months and DIED's wait will be so long that, even though he was mailed a first edition, it will arrive as the second edition. ;\)
...and Eastland's will arrive as an empty cover, back, and binding. Whassup wit dat?
