I have been noticing that alot of the fish that I have been catching in local farm ponds here in northeastern ok have worms on their gills and in their mea, is there any way to stop this. any advice would be appreciated.

Certain species of parasitic grubs require snails during portions of thier life cycle. Depending on what species you've seen, a fish like redear sunfish(shellcracker) that eats alot of snails may help controll them.
