I live outside of Lubbock, TX in Ransom Canyon. We have a slow moving brook in our backyard that is full of muck from years of decaying leaves. There is water that flows (very slowly) from a spring above my house and into the brook. The smell is terrible and the muck is deep (almost 5 feet in some areas). The brook has so much potential to be a wonderful ecosystem for fish, animals, etc. The creek itself is around 6ft deep in the middle. I'm trying to find a solution to the muck, but haven't had much luck. I had a guy refer me over here to the pond boss for assistance. The part of the brook that I am responsible for is around 1/2 acre. There are trees lining both sides of the brook that are over 100 years old. I've been told that aeration and muck pellets may not work because of the constant flow of water in and out of the brook. Any help/guidance is most appreciated.

Do you have any pictures of both ends and middle you are responsible for?

It is my personal observation that muck removal products are mostly scams. But, I haven’t seen them all.

Yes I do. I will upload them as soon as I figure out how.
