Thinking about putting in s 100x100 pond about 8-10 feet deep. We have to have a liner as we sit up on a hill a bit and the only water is rain and snow. Is there any feasible way to fill it or are just wasting our time even putting the pond in? We want it for swimming for the kids and to skate in in the winter.
Thanks

How do they work water rights (sub-surface) in MI..???
If allowed, a domestic well can be drilled, installed and run for the purpose of drip system on trees. If you choose to run without a pressure tank, you'll have to bleed pressure through another line..You following me..?? cool
I seen in your other thread you had drilled a core hole. How deep did they test?

Do you have a well now? If yes, what is its output in GPM? Another supplemental source of water some folks use is the downspouts from their house. Would it be possible to pipe your downspouts to the pond?

Hi Snipe. Wasn’t us the drilled a core. I do have a well on the house now if that helps. Ground around us is pretty dry though.

Hi Bill

We do have a well on the house now. I will find the gpm. Downspouts could be run into the pond area as well but not sure how much that would add. You couldn’t just use the hose from the house well could you? Seems like it would tak a long time to fill? Trucking it in isn’t an option either as it’s about $450 for 9000 gallons

Thank you

My pond is pretty small too. I'm filling it with well water now to finish the last 2 feet or so. Not much gpm output so it will take a week or so at 3.6 inches per day.

Thanks- how big is yours? Have you filled the whole thing with the hose?

About 120x60 9ft at the deepest. I have a tiny bit of watershed so it took almost 2 months to get this far from rain alone. The last 2 ft is with the hose. 6 more days to go!

Larry, you'd be surprised how much water runs off of roof if you collected it/directed it into pond!
I know TJ uses this method with several of his clients.

Got it. So it’s not impossible to do! We were going to put a pool in but it was 60k for a 20x40 pool. I am looking at a 100x100 pond with liner, 20ft beach and clearing the trees in the area for 16k.
