We have gone over 90 days without any rain. It’s finally giving us a little relief. So far a slow soaking rain . I was scooping up water with tractor to give to dogwoods and some red oaks. For some it’s to late..... pond is down between 3 and 4’. Haven’t seen it that low since it filled in 2014-2015. So far maybe 1/2-3/4” rain with more expected...... here’s hoping
3 months without rain is brutal. Glad you're getting some relief now, Pat.
You got more than I did Pat. Happy for you
Hay! if you have any extra, please send it my way.
We were incredibly dry here, with our last big rain with any runoff coming in March. Just some .5” rains here and there. Looks as though the guy farming our place will get some yield with his soybeans. At least enough yield to harvest. We started getting rain a few weeks ago. Then got two 2”+ rains in the last week, and more in the forecast.
We just got to the farm last night from camping out in the Black Hills for a week. Headed down to the pond shortly to see how it looks.
The grass around the house up here is way tall. So, all in all I’d say our drought is over. We are still behind for the year, but it’s looking better.
Lots of farmers west of us just mowed their corn.. Too dry.
Sure hope you guys get more rain. I know when our pond was down 5’ it was getting pretty upsetting. Ready to sell the place. (In my darker moments.)
Pat, good for you. Hate ta be nice but a low pond hurts. 3-4' low sucks!!!! That amounts to a whole lot of water.
Why don't ya jump off of that big pile of $ and come to In and swim in a cooooool body of water? Not sayin that would make ya cool but maybe ya could pick up that northern Il doink and we could exchange insults.
We have got ~ 4/10th's so far and we are enjoying every drop.
My pond is down a little over 2 feet......
My BOW got about 1.5 inches last couple of days. That's as much as it got the last several months, dropped two feet despite constant small inflow. Couldn't keep up with evaporation.
We received exactly five inches of rain in August, but the ponds (even the non leaker) still finished the month at lower levels than starting. The most rain in one 24 hour period was 0.88 inches. We had 16 days with at least a bit of rain, but no significant run-off all month. The average rain was a bit over 0.3" in a day. All it did was make the grass grow, and totally annoy the hay producers.
Update.... we wound up the day with 5” of rain. Maybe we saved a few trees .pond came up a few inches

Bob may have to take you up on that
Our pond came up about 3 feet....after 10 inches of rain over about 12 hrs. Needless to say, my docks weren't set deep enough.
A view from the pond side..
I hope you guys get some of this rain. We are 'topped up' right now... :-(
It is going to keep coming too! Luckily mine isn't too bad - about 8-10" over normal at the moment.
Wow! Sorry to see that Doc. Hope you didn't leave any gear on the floor of that gazebo. We got a lot of rain a couple hrs east of you, but not enough to do that to my pond thankfully. I'm glad I overkilled the outlet sizes.
We were up 2’ on Monday, but still the pond was down 3’. Looks like we will see more rain this week. It’s been so long since my pond was full.. The weeds down to the waters edge are turning into bushes. I’m not sure if what we are getting is from hurricane Gordon, but they are saying very heavy rains for Friday.
