my bg are 3.5 years old. i have found 6 or 8 dead male bg in the last day or so. not real sure how many. some are in perfect condition and some are half eaten by the turtles. I saw a few buzzards on the dam earlier today. do you all ever see any die after the spawn?

I have seen the "dwindles" in fish that have been breeding for an extended length of time. It is easy to see a reduction in weight and sometimes the fish will take it too far making them susceptible to a range of health issues. Even in a tank setting where nutrition is not limiting, a fish can only invest so much in reproduction before they seem to just give out and can not be reconditioned to breed regardless of my efforts.

these seem to be the biggest of the big. other fish are feeding fine and seem to be ok. it has been really hot here lately. i caught an oxygen depletion just in time last year. i don't want to head in that direction again.
