I have a plant that is growing in a low water wet land almost swamp conditions. It ooks very similar to American Water Willow but I'm not convinced that is what it is. Very very similar tho. Seems to be a little more dense and stems don't seem to get as thick. I'll get some photos next time I'm there. Anyone know off hand of a plant that is similar to AWW?

Thanks

Look up Maidencane.

Thanks for the reply Mr. Bob. That's not it. The leaves look just like AWW. It may be AWW. I'll post pictures.

Here are a couple of pics. I have a few more if needed. Just curious what it is. Stem seems more woody than AWW.

could this be water primrose?

Doesn't look like my primrose. I agree with Red, smartweed. Looks just like American Water Willow, but AWW has opposite leaves. From your pics, it looks like yours has alternate leaves. Smartweed has alternate leaves. Meaning instead of being across from each other they alternate left to right as you go up the stem. Only reason I know is I just transplanted some. Look at the pics on my post about planting smartweed. I have a few pics. There are actually over 30 varieties of smartweed...or plants in the same family.

Plant I posted is lizard tail. Had to wait for it to bloom.

Hey Steve, I don't think the photos you posted are Lizards Tail...I'm voting for Smartweed.

This is your photo of the plant...

It is not Lizards tail.

It looks like smartweed to me too. It's very common around here.

To me, it looks like Japanese stiltgrass.
