A section of our lake has this white fungus growing in the water willows plants last year.

I'll get closeup shots the next time that I see it.

Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Try to collect the fungus and put it in a pan of shallow clear water that sits on a dark background so the fuzzy stuff shows well in the close up picture.
