What is the going rate per 1,000 of threadfin right now? I know it will vary by region but I am just trying to get a ballpark.

When I bought my tfs they were sold as pounds of fish and I think It may be hard to find a place that will sein up and sell them at a rate of 1,000 fish. look for a place that might sell 2500 because I think that is the smallest amount or numbers I could find and purchase. Around 700 bucks or so if memory serves me. It's been awhile. Another note is they are not so easy to find and purchase due to cold winters that may kill off the suppliers ponds and when they are available they wont be around long as large purchases from single buyers will make an order of fish early in the season or even pre season orders. This has been my experiences along with other friends.

Thanks. My supplier told me $1000 for 3,000 fish delivered.

I have also considered doing that here on the Red River. At the locks and dams there a lot of shad. But both TFS and Gizzards are in there and if I have to hand sort 2,500 its a bigger job than I want to do.

One thing to bear in mind is that it takes a good consistent plankton bloom for TFS to do well. I'd love to put some in my BOW, but it's just too infertile.
