Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Just wanted to make sure these are bass. There has to be tens of thousands of them in the 3/4 acre pond I manage. They are already eating ground up aquamax largemouth pellets.

I'm not sure if those are LMB fry or not.

I would say my best guest are some shiners. I don't know what species though.

Here are more. These look more bass like to me but figured I'd see what you folks thought.

I almost don't think the fry in the first and second picture are the same type of fish.

Fish in 1st picture are shiners and those in 2nd picture are small LMbass.

Agree with Bill.

Bass fry (about 12 days after swim up) in a jar. Jar magnifies their size.

The first pic looks a lot like the minnows in my pond and they should be FHM. My minnows came from a golden shiner farm and I found one shiner as I hand sorted them when stocking. That guy went into the creek and I really don't have the habitat for shiners to reproduce. So, pretty sure these are FHM...

Thanks for distinguishing between the two. It'll be a week come saturday that Iv'e checked on them. Curious to see if the numbers are still high. Alot of gills in there, some on beds.

99% of those bass and minnows will be groceries within 12 months. But, that's mama Nature at work.
