Hey guys,

As some of you might already know i am taking some fish back to Turkey. I got some from Overton's but they are mostly dead now.

I need to get more fish from NYC. I don't mind driving for 100-200 miles. I need up to 2.5 inches LMB , FHM (and maybe BG) .

I might need some Blue Cats too but i don't think anyone have them in NY.

Any help would be very much appreciated smile .

Thank you.

Could you arrange for Overton's to ship you another batch at the same time you will be in NYC? Seems a shame to go thru all the work of bringing them back with you and not have the very best stock.

Man, unfortunately Todd doesn't ship fish. I tried to find someone to drive to Todd's and ship the fish to me for a fair fee but had no chance.

Those fish died because I had to send them to someone without knowledge of how to handle fish when FedEx guy screwed everything and I couldn't send them to Esshup before Esshup left the state.

You were really screwed with the half baked plan in the PM's. That's why I never replied.

How would you bake it Phil? I have been trying to get those fish for over 2 years and this is the best solution I could come up with so far smirk.

Is it possible to bring any LMB, and other kinds, with you from Detroit?

I am finding a hatchery located up near Cooperstown, NY. That is 200 miles away. Yikes!!!! Named Hicklings.

Found one near Lake Ariel PA, called Schultz's. That is 118 miles from NYC.

Somebody know anything about these, or something closer to NYC?

I would not have attempted that, but you gave it a shot and found it didn't work so well. Maybe something larger than a 10 gallon aquarium would have been beneficial.

I just really don't know. I get nervous picking up fish 18 miles from here shocked

Yes Jim, it is possible but risky and too expensive. If i can't find a supplier around New York this is what i am going to be doing though.

I know about Hickling's. If i can't find one closer, this is what i am gonna do.

Sorry I was unable to help much, I am more than 200 miles from NYC, and the back roads to Fingerlakes Aquaculture make it take forever if you are trying to go east west.

One other glitch; you need a stocking permint in NYS to purchase fish from a DEC qualified fish hatchery to stock ponds in NY. They ask a lot of questions of the destination body of water to prevent altering sensitive ecosystems. I dont know how that would work for out of state let alone out of the country.

Fish transfers must happen somehow for the tropical fish trade, but my guess is you may be better off finding a pet or tropical fish store and requesting some US natives. Have them shipped the same way tropical fish are.

You have a tough challenge ahead for you though. I wish you the best of luck!

You are helping great Liquid. Don't worry.

I called Hickling's Fish farm today and the lady told me "you probably won't find 1-2 incher fingerlings because no fish farm breeds their own fish here(LMB). LMB comes from other states and they usually are at least 3-4 inchers" .

Scott has the fish i need. I was just looking for someone in NY , since the shipping would be too costy but it turned out that it will be about 200 bucks, which is affordable for me.

I guess this is what i will be doing.
