New to this forum and hoping i could get some help. So i have this pond. and the only thing i can seem to catch is bass. anywhere from 2-6 lbs average. crappie no smaller than 15 inches. & big shellcrackers. How ever it was stocked with warmouths, Channel Cats, and bream as well. The problem is i havent caught any bream, channel cats, warmouths, or bream in last few years. Also i am unable to catch smaller fish inside this pond. so is it possible the bass have overpopulated this pond and eatin all of the smaller fish?.
Also i have set some lines out in this pond in hopes to see what i catch. while i was doing this i observed a warmouth on the bank about the size of my hand. also i noticed a bunch of tiny bream the size of my pinky and smaller. This was at 1AM. during the day you wont see them on the bank. why is this? any advice on what i should do ? i would hate to have to drain the pond and restock it.

really it seems like my pond is overpopulated with bass and eating all of the the smaller fish. So I guess my goal would be to some how reduce the bass population that way some of the other fish can repopulate

Yes, that seems accurate. But also you should be keeping tabs on their weight ratio. It may not be as bad as you might think, but may be heading that way. One thing you could do in addition to taking out some of the underperformers is to add more cover for the young fish so they have a chance to survive to a bigger size.

Also, do some research on here in regards to crappie. They may actually be the ones that are hammering the fry before even the bass get a chance at them.

Weight charts: Print each one and when you catch a fish that is an underperformer, remove it from pond.
