Was holding out hope as all appeared to be holding well then noticed isolated wet spot at foot of dam just today. 3" drop in past 24 hrs. New construction and just installed spillway but not pipe yet. Did not use sheeps foot to pack down but had plenty of packing clay and nice core. However, lots of rock in the area as well as spring heads. Draining not an option except by mother nature. No fish is it as of yet. Not sure what else to do other than let time take over til empty and start over. Cost of course is a major issue.

Sorry to hear this for you. What does your builder say now? I would suggest keeping him on board as long as the two of you can keep working together to get it done right. However, if he won't fix it the right way, that will be unfortunate. Has he built many ponds?

Without it ever filling and holding, seems like it is on the builders tab to fix, unless he suggested from the start not building a pond.
