Bob, it's against the law to kill herons of other long billed birds. I'm sure you just shoot in the air to scare them away. I guess some might die from fright but I wouldn't want to face a Federal Judge about it.

Depending on the availability of the Gams (and 5 lbs FHM), the 3" CNBG & RES could be in jeopardy from 10"-12" LMB.
Oh I also forgot to at that my once 3 cnbg and res are about 5-6inch now and there have been about 3 spawns of blugill and theres tones of them.

1)Spilling beer is called alcohol abuse.Maybe your dog should seek professional help.
2)I got caught with beer in an icechest once(that can be proven).
Im thinking about putting a few adult crappie in here. I know they can be bad i just just want something different. tell me what ya think.
I don't think it would be a bad idea providing you can 100% positively identify that they are all males.

So anyone got an idea what a white bass will do in a pond??
My guess is the same as HSB, although they won't get as big. They are in some of the public lakes here and I haven't heard of one getting caught that was larger than 2#. But then again I haven't seen or heard it all! While they are supposed to need running water to spawn, I'm not 100% sure of that. There are some lakes here that don't have rivers feeding them, and the WB population is still there. I don't believe a single person illegally stocking them would be able to stock enough in a lake to make a catchable population without some reproduction.
They can spawn on wind blown flats aswell

Years ago we had a TPWD Biologist who posted here. He posted about white bass spawning in a windy lake due to huge rip rap on the dam. Those were the days before the prior PB System got clobbered.
Well i know here in texas even our main rivers go dry down here now so they have to spawn some how right
not yet ill get some soon
