I think Photobucket has been hacked. I can't get to the site in any way, and there is a suspicious "web hosting" company's ad that pops up when I try to get there. That would be a bad deal for PB forum, since many images would be impossible to access. Anybody know something about this?

Hmmmm......I can still access my albums.

All red "x's", so it's not just me. I still can't get on Photobucket.

...I can view your photo, however.

I can see all the pictures? No red "x"s here. Do you have a new firewall?

No problem with my account. Bruce your pics show up here (I checked the archives "Sunfish Thread" ).

Bruce,

Shut down your computer and go fishing!

After your mind is "right", download the latest updates from your anti-spam & anti-virus software and then run a complete scan.

If you still have the problem after that process, check your firewall settings.

If you still have the problem, check the FAQs at Photobucket.

If you still have the problem PM me and I will try to help by remotely logging on to your system.

Thanks, Dwight. I still have no ability to see photos, also no ability to even log onto photobucket. Even if I type it in manually I get diverted to something really weird. Do I have the virus? I sure hope not. I subscribe to Norton...for whatever that's worth.

Bruce,

I was uploading some pictures to photobucket from my browser the other day and when the upload was complete they weren't my pictures. It was some family pics of someone else. Didn't come off my browser.

Hope you get this resolved. No fun when the puter isn't working right.

Shut down computer. No help.

Full system virus scan. No help.

Red x's on every thread in the history of Pond Boss. \:\(

If I directly type in http://www.photobucket.com into my computer, the following web address comes up.

This is on that site now

IMPORTANT! Photobucket.com problem read here:
Last night Photobucket.com DNS at register.com was hacked by malicious people that are trying to compromise our business!
We are in no way affiliated with such bad deeds and cooperate with photobucket in capturing these individuals.
They have pointed the domain photobucket.com to an account hosted on our systems!
We have blocked that and photobucked techs have restored the domain pointing to its original location!
ALL account information and pictures on photobucket.com are OK, please have patience!
Unfortunately the complete DNS replication usually takes 24-48 hours and during this time caches DNS records might still point to us!
The normal operation of Photobucket is restored and as soon as the replication is complete there should be no further such issues!
We would like to emphasize that we are in now way responsible for what happens with photobucket and all users bumping across our systems!
We are a legitimate web hosting company operating since 2003 and in no way tolerate such hacking attempts!
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at abuse@zettahost.com!
Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Bruce, What is your current status?
Posted By: Bruce Condello Re: Disturbing development? - 06/20/08 02:13 AM
Sleepy.

Overworked.

Stressed.

Poor flexibility. ;\)

I think P-Bucket is up 'n' runnin' again. Thanks, buddy.

I had the Denali loaded with petrol ($120) and all my magic Internet-Fixbots loaded in the back. I could have been to your place in a few hours. It sounds like you are recovering on your own.

Flexibility is over-rated! \:D

I try to fish everyday in the summer, if only for a half hour. It soothes the savage beasties in me and makes me a happy man. \:\)
