I have no idea what spring will bring. I know I have a cattail problem and a Curly pond weed problem. My pond isnt really that big, but I have a few bass and bluegills in it. I was told that is a good combination. Have any of you ever went swimming with your Sunnies? They are a friendly little fish! Last summer the little buggers swam with me all the time. They would come up and nibble on my hair that was hanging in the water. They had no fear. I fed them from the shore and it seemed like they knew me. Does anyone do this with their fish? My pond is mostly used for swimming and just the enjoyment of the fish and the frogs. Lots of tadpoles every year. I have an electrical outlet on the edge of my pond so it is aerated 24/7. The pond was dug in my front pasture so it is near the house. It is so nice to have your own pond to swim in when it's 90 out! This is a great pond site, and thanks to all the help on here! I'm sure gonna need it!!

Welcome to the PB forum, luvmypond!

It sounds like you're enjoying your pond and have already met your goals--swimming and enjoying fish/frogs.

When you say Sunnies, are you referring to Green Sunfish (GSF), Bluegill (BG), or another species?

Cattails can be very invasive, of course, but I've found that they're a nice hiding spot for the fish when contained to a delegated area.
