Hello.

I'm already preparing for next spring, so I have a question.

I have a small pond for the propagation, after the eggs hatch I transfer the larvae in another small pond with the light.

But I have a small problem, there is filamentous algae on some eggs and the eggs don't hatch.

So I thought to put a floating board over the eggs to cut the light and prevent the algae.

Do you thing it can work and if the shade will not harm the eggs.

Thank you.

The shade should not reduce the hatching success because the eggs will receive some incident and reflected light. I am not sure the covering board will reduce the light to where the FA will not grow. Run a test with two egg ribbons one with covering, one without covering.

Tell us about the results of your perch YOY production this year. How big are the ones that trained to eat pellet food?.
