Hi
I built a nice pond 20 years ago.It is a seeper with no artesian flow.It does go down some in the summer unless I ad from a creek below the pond. There is a artesian flow about 500 ft south of my pond about the same level. The pond is about 14 ft deepest part and I use a sweetwater air pump to help the fish
I wonder how I might try and go deeper to find a better flow like my neighbors which is a very old source.Could I do it by hand?
Could I try a dril a hole in my pond bottom or outside?
I appreciate you being here to help.
thanks
john

Welcome to PBF John,

I recommend against digging a hole in the bottom of your pond. You may find it acts as a drain instead of a source of fresh water! Is it possible to run a ditch from the current "well" to the pond? This could possibly keep the pond level from going lower then the "well" level. Are you sure the pond level is not just following the level of the water table vs "seeping?"
