I have both a 3 acre lake and a very small pond. The pond is on a 5 acre tract I just purchased. The pond is shallow and goes almost dry late in the year. right now we are getting plenty of rain so the pond is full. Weather has been on and off cold, Monday sleet and snow 27 degrees over night. I have found two large frogs dead at the pond with no physical damage to them. This pond is shallow enough it does not overwinter fish as much as I can tell. any ideas will be appreciated.

Winterkill just showing up? In the grand scheme of things 2 isn't a huge amount. 200? Then I'd be more concerned. If fish will die in the pond from winterkill, so will frogs.
