Have a delivery set for tomorrow, have not done an official water test on my new pond. Looks to have about 1ft visibility with green tint. Some turbid with recent rain, but clears in jar within few days w/o any treatment. I have grass planted over the weekend so hope to have some growth in a couple weeks.

Pond is currently about 10-12ft deep, stocked some trout a couple months ago with not much success, eventually after heavy rain saw 5-6 floaters, I estimated 10-12 were feeding for about 3-4 weeks before the rain event.

For a new pond, should I be completing a water quality test, what are chances it has low DO? 3/4 acres and 10-12 ft deep with some good top water wind action most of the day. Will be installing an aerator within a month or two.

I think you should be good to go.

My observation, in Texas, is that oak tree country generally has "good" water for fish. Pine tree country generally needs to be doctored.
