Newbie to this site... seems like a wealth of knowledge on here to tap into. Few questions my pond size is just under 1/2 acre and I would like to start the clearing process any recommendations on the amt of alum and lime to start with? Its not horribly muddy it has started to clear on its own. any advice would be awesome!

Welcome to PBF!

You say it is clearing some .....IMO I would do a jar test as my first action. The jar test is easy. Take a big jar full of your pond water and place it in a dark place for a week or two. If the water clears in the jar, it can in your pond as well. Is there anything keeping the pond stirred up like heavy rains washing in new soil?

Welcome to PBF.

What BillD says.

No need treating it if it is not needed.

How old is the pond? If it is newly built it may be having erosion runoff making it muddy.
