Here it is August 1st and my pond is full. I am not used to this in East Texas. It has rained the last 6 days. My fish and I are happy.

My pond was 3 feet low from a leak and adding an extension to drain pipe. My dad said that it is full and water is running out of the pipe.

For the last couple of days, I've been watching radar of my place. The clouds split as they come that way.

In July we have had 12 inches of rain vs. 4 inches normally. Ponds full. More rain today and more on the way.

I think we're about through. 100+ degree days with lots of humidity coming.

It's been wet here, too. I haven't been able to make hay for going on 3 weeks.

Lat weekend I had to go to SE Texas. About 75 miles South of D/FW, I saw the drought. Lots of six ft tall corn that was completely dead. I also saw ripe maize that was about 14 to 16 inches tall. It was nicely headed out but that is really early and short to mature.

During the past 2 weeks we have temps in the 80's and nice rains, about 3 inches, that keep me from watering the lawn. However, Bowie, 70 miles NW has had about the usual 1/2 inch. Ponds are hurting.
