I ordered some plants from the Megapond store website and some of them were "infected" with duck weed. (All in all I was very pleased with the order, health of the plants, and their prompt service.) I rinsed them thoroughly, all the plants had to be bare rooted to get them to release from their little plastic basket/pots that they were grown in and I rinsed them and soaked them until I could not see any sign of the duckweed. BUT, it is now showing up in the pond in very small amounts, meaning that you have to look for 10 minutes to find a bit of it.

Have I been blessed or cursed and is there something that I should be doing?

I've had duckweed show up in my pond from waterfowl bringing it in. Unless your pond is chock full of nutrients, I don't think it will become a problem, but if it does, spray it with Clipper.
