I've had a bad infestation of what I thought was filamentous algae - A weed control company came out and said it is sphagnum moss - 50% covering my pond - They said they've tried everything over the years to control it with no luck - So, I thought i'd ask the experts here - Is there really nothing I can do???
Thanks!

sphagnum moss usually grows in bogs that are high in acid and low in nutrients. Is this in very shallow areas? Tell us more about the pond; size, depth, hardness/alkalinity, etc. You may have to rake as much of it as you can, but wear gloves and take care in handling. It will probably contain fungus spores that humans are susceptible to.
