Three years ago one of my ponds was choked with coontail. a service from the mid-cities came out and sprayed sonar. It worked great and following their suggestions I added sonar the next year. Now I have no vegetation two years later. No cover for the bluegill or the small bass. But some nice six to seven pound bass in a 3/4 acre pond. I would like some American Pond weed and some submerged plants. Where can I find them? I used to have a lot of ducks visit but no more.

What fish (including crayfish) is eating your vegetation?
Is your water clarity such that sun can't hit the bottom of the pond in the shallows?

Sonar shouldn't suppress vegetation for 2 years I wouldn't think..

You are right, since the coontail was removed the water has been quite turbid. The coontail did keep the water clear. The pond has bass and bluegill, I don't think that we have a lot of crawfish. I usually buy a couple of pounds of live crawfish in the spring, but don't see any mounds.

Not all crawfish burrow and make mounds. Do a jar test and see what is causing the turbidity.
