I have a 2.5 acre stream fed pond in Pennsylvania. I bought the property late last November so this is my first summer with it. The pond varies from 3 feet deep at the inlet to 12 feet near the outlet.

This submerged weed started near the inlet in the spring and covered about 25% of the pond. Recently (the last 3 weeks) it's been spreading more rapidly and now covers at least 50%. We had some heavy rain around the time it started spreading more rapidly which I think washed fertilizer from the upstream corn field into the stream that feeds our pond. The pictures in the white cooler are the weeds submerged in water. Any help is appreciated.
