This is our 4th year with our 10 A. rock quarry. We have LMB, CC, BG, YP, HSB added last spring, RES and about 12 GC. There is a half A. of spawning area but the rest is 20-35 ft. deep. This spring for the first time we have huge numbers of 3-4 in. LMB. They have spawned this spring and there are swarms of more bass. The fish are all very healthy but I am concerned about the amount of bass and what may happen in the future. My question is, would it help to add some mid sized walleye or something to feed on the young bass? I forgot to mention there are also BCP but are really kept in check by the larger bass. I have followed this forum for a couple years and and feel it is an outstanding source of information.

Your larger LMB will cannibalize the smaller bass, at 4" they are vulnerable to predation. I wouldn't worry about it just yet, I would wait and see how many make it to 9" and then start culling them if needed.

Thank you for your comment but there are just so many more than I have seen before. They just seem to be everywhere. There is just so much food now with all the spawning going on.

I wish I could have your problem. I want nice BG and numerous moderate size LMB and I cant seem to get LMB recruitment. I'm getting over populated with BG and have only a few monster LMB.

If I was going for trophy LMB, I would be in perfect shape. Did see one smaller 15" LMB in the shallows with the BG so I must have had at least a tiny amount of recruitment.

The tell for an overcrowded LMB situation is below average body conditions and slow growth, keep an eye out for that. Your initial post said this new crop of LMB seem to be very healthy, I wouldn't be worried about it. You can stock walleye if you want but I don't think they will have much of an impact on this years LMB hatch.

Thanks for all the support. It does make me feel better. We took this pond over 4 years ago and there had been no management of any kind. That group did not allow any LMB to be taken out. I know what stunted bass look like because there were a lot of them. I have not caught a stunted fish for 2 years. Besides reading this forum I have used a pond manager that has also been very good help. My wife and I went fishing this afternoon and caught very healthy looking fish. We also saw 3 huge schools of 1/4 in. baby LMB. I do feed AQ500 2 times a day and have added 12 gallons of GSH 2 times per years. I think that has kept the LMB very catchable.I have made enough mistakes and I am sure there are plenty of messups ahead. Thanks again for the support.
