I just got my first bag of AM500. The little coop in Lockesburg is going to stock it for me. The coop is on hwy 71 between Dequeen and Texarkana. I'll probably use about a bag a month. He was pretty interested in it. Had never had any through the store, but its a line item now. If anyone is interested in SW Arkansas or are down here and want them to carry anymore let me know and I'll get them to add more. Right now they are just going to keep one bag on hand for me. I'm paying 40 dollars even for it. I don't know how good of price that is, but I'm just 15 minutes from the coop.

After all the GSF talk, I'm anxious to see how they grow with it, yes I said GSF. I have had some I know 10" fish. Hopefully they and what BG I have will take to it well, surely be better than the TSC feed I was using, it was pretty disappointing compared to my optimal last year. I have read on other threads that the 500 is a good size for multiple classes of fish. I thought about getting the MVP but was afraid of how it would go through my feeder.

Well cleaned out the old TSC powder that was left. I do not think the feeder through much the last couple days. Filled half full of AM500, then threw a few small hand fulls in the shallows. Took a few minutes then they started hitting. Much more aggressively than with the other feed. Instead of a little pop, we actually got a good splash. Left and started bush hogging. Feeder went off at 7:40. All I can say is WOW. After a few started hitting, it was like the last day of school at the local elementary. They swarmed. I had never seen them like that. I figure much of that was the day or so without feed. But I can't help but think that this feed, with fish meal being the top ingredient attracted them.

Maybe dumb question, but can fish tell the difference before it hits their mouth and they taste it? Would they be more attracted to the fish meal than the grain? Or do they not know the difference until they actually eat it? Do some feeds work like the old baitmait that you could spray on your baits, like an attractant? I read on some threads that the gamefish chow had something like that...didn't know about the sportfish.

edit, girls thought it was really cool that "that guy in daddy's magazines" was also on the new fish feed.
