Looking into getting a Automatic fish feeder for my Pond, not really wanting to spend over $175. I do not have a dock so not quite sure how to mount it. How are you guys mounting your feeders (pics would be awesome)? What do you guys recommend?

I have a hanging aquapro dx-25 that costs about $100 plus about $30 more for a rechargeable 6V battery and 6V solar charger. I hang it on two of those heavy duty plant hangers you can get at Home depot. They can be 4 feet to 6 feet tall but you need two as one cannot support the weight. Sorry, I don't have a picture but I can over the weekend and post it.

Cory

I posted somewhere on this on another post, but here is what I did. Remingtion deer feeders work great. 85 bucks, put a 6volt solar panel on it from Gander Mountain with the recharge battery 40 bucks. There you go you got yourself a auto fish feeder for about 125 bucks or so.

Mine works great the only down fall is you have to either fill it by boat or by step ladder if it's shallow enough. Mine is in 5 feet of water so I sometimes use my step ladder and just walk the feed out there. It's a cheeper option that has worked well for me. The feeder will hold 3 50 pound bags of AM600 easy.

Thanks for the info djstauder & RC51. I was wondering about just putting a deer feeder out in the water, looks like that has worked great for you! How long have you had the feeder legs submerged in water? I found this feeder last night online and thought I may could put it on edge of pond, maybe 2 legs in water and 1 leg on bank.

The deer feeders will work (360 degree throw) if you can get it far enough into the pond. If there are bears around, they might like the feeder too, just like bird feeders.

No Bears! I may give the deer feeder a try, if it doesn't work for me then I'll have an extra feeder.

This one has been in my pond now for 3 years. Legs are still holding up fine for now. I suppose that may become an issue at some point. Just not sure when? If and whe it does I bet I could replace them with schedule 80 pvc and they would hold it up.

Sounds like I will probably go this route then!
