I have some catfish in a 500 gallon holding tank while I wait for my pond to fill up.. they are about 14 inches or so long.. right now I have some minnows in the tank as well but I am wondering what other cheaper/easier item I can feed them until I can move them? Any suggestions? Also I notice that a few of them have what looks like a small worm/leech attached at the base of the fins etc... about a 1/2 long and really stuck on... what are they and what is a good way to treat them before I release the fish.

Thank you.

You can feed floating catfish food....it is $8.50 for 50#'s in Ms. Make sure the protein is at least 32%.

Unfortunately we don't have any suppliers of catfish food in my area... I am thinking about feeding something like catfood if it meets the protein requirements.... thoughts on that idea?

Alot of folks use catfood and dog food....I would think for a temporary situation that would suffice.
