It is my understanding that HBG have low recruitment due to high % of male fish as a result of the hybrid cross. I am not sure how fast the HBG are reproducing in my pond but they definatly are.

Couple Questions...

will successive generations continue to produce mostly male fish or after 3,4,5th generation will the ratio start to balance out as far as male/female fish.

If not...

will adding several adult "female" BG to the pond breed with the male HBG resulting in a young fish of a more balanced sex ration increasing the female percentage.

as the predators grow in my pond I am sure they will need more food. So I will need more females making babies for them to eat.

If you truly want sunfish reproduction to feed your predators, then simply place a couple dozen male and female BG into your pond. Within a couple years, you will have almost no HBG or their successive generations and will have almost all BG. Trying to cross HBG with BG isn't a good idea. There aren't enough scientific studies out there to say just what the ratio of male to female is for successive generations of HBG. And crossing pure BG with HBG has even less data...
