We don't give a Spec about your Crappie spelling Brian, but it looks like the bass caught you.

I spell these crappie B-I-G. P.S. Brian - Are you actually from there, or did you just join La Cosa Nebraska for fishing purposes?

No I am from Ohio, but it is a nice warm sweat shirt that I can fish in, Ohio weather blows>>>>> But my crappie are only 4 years old so they are doing ok. My bass are on their 7th year as I put them in May 2001. But I need to make sure I take some crappie for the dinner table. I caught a lot that were only 4 inches.

Brian, Nice fish. Are you tickling that bass's tummy from the inside? You may have to do what we do with our crappie. We pull every crappie we catch, regardless of size. I just posted about how mine have come back from what I thought was "extinction." ( My Crappie Came Back ). At least the ones we are catching are reasonable size. But, I just don't trust them. Good luck, Ken

Hey, sorry about the fist in the mouth!!!! My 2nd big fish out of my pond, and by far the biggest. Hence, The EXCITEMENT I had catching that little monster?? Atleast for the size of fish in a 7 year old pond. The catch was more fun then I actually thought it would be. I had been catching some really nice channel cat that were all over 5.5 lbs. Some people call them Blue Cats. I thought I had a CT until it jump in the air, so the surprise of that little leap was sweet. So we even took a photo of just his mouth. In regards to my crappie this is the first year that I was willing to crappie fish. I really wanted them to get established before catching many at all. I was hoping that my already established bass population was going to help keep the numbers lower then normal, being 4 years established? So far I am happy!! I will just add to natures way, and EAT the heck out of them. So far I am thrilled with the fish and the fishing here.
I will have some more pics by Sundays.
Good fisahing to ALL
