I guess my question is asking "What will happen between last Friday and the next few days?"
My pond recieved a torrential 6-1/4" downpour Friday, I observed the bass defending nests last week prior but the pond raised about 4-5' in about 3 hrs and turned the color of chocolate milk. I fear this will prohibit the light from reaching the nests and again leave me with an unsuccessful hatch.
Any opinions are welcome. Thanks FH

I think you are right. In a couple of years of turbid water, I've had very little BG recruitment. In addition to lack of light penetration, Papa Bass will have to work overtime to keep the nest clean and fanned. He/they might just abandon nests.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Do you think that aqua shade will interfere with the BG or any other fish's nest from not getting light? I put some in this spring and my biggest goal is to have lots of bg fry for my bc,perch and lmb.The fish that are in the pond look great but, I was curious when I read this post to what others might think.

I think it could interfere but maybe from a different perspective. Dye can prevent sunlight penetration and thus inhibit plankton creation. As the base of the food chain, plankton is the food for small (real small) insects that feed the fry. With limited groceries available, all fish recruitment could be adversely affected.

A follow up here, I am beginning to clear some and visibility has gone from basically nothing to about 12" I can now see activity with the BG nests but can not see if they're still present. I hope to see the Bass nests this week but not holding my breath. Will post again in a week or so.
