Just curious if any one in SE Texas (or similar climate) has had any spawning? I have seen fathead minnow fry and that is it so far.

Haven't seen any spawning yet in my neck of the woods. But then it's been a much colder spring than last year.

Yes some BG were on beds last full moon - April 1. A large spawn will happen around April 29 full moon - known as the Fish Moon.

I'm in Livingston and have schools of what I believe are cnbg in very shallow grassy water. They are more than a half inch long. My shallow water has been running about 70°
If I get a chance I'll try netting some.
4 acre pond 32 ft deep within East Texas (Livingston) timber ranch. Filled (to the top of an almost finished dam) by Hurricane Harvey 9/17. Stocked with FHM, CNBG, RES 10/17. Added 35lbs RSC 3/18. 400 N LMB fingerlings 6/18

Temps have been averaging about ten degrees F below normal here for April so far. Spawn is late.

Does anyone know if crappie fry gang up along shoreline in huge schools of maybe 500+- before heading offshore?

Measured water temp at 66 F around 6pm. Still no signs of BG spawn, nor much BG activity around feeders. Bass are eating LMB food, though!

More like March 15 here instead of April 15. Freezing temps the next two nights. About to finish corn planting next week and soil temps are cooooold.

It was 34 deg F here at 11:00 this morning. Could see low 20's to high teens tonight the way the forecast is off. Too cold to feed BG yesterday and today. Not putting out tomatoes this year until sometime in May.

No feeding here either. Been busy chasing the darn cormorants off though.
About a month ago while casting the cast net for RES and GS I drug out a 1" RES. It was small enough to go through the net and fell on the ground as I pulled the net up.
I know it could not be this years spawn but I was surprised at its small size. Must have been from a late fall spawn. I wonder how many that size is in there. Maybe some of the 9" SMB I put in there will thin them out.
