I have a 1/3 acre pond that has been neglected for a long time. I just started aeration today wondering how long before I can stock rainbow trout in the pond. Not sure if any more information would be helpful if so just ask.
Thanks Mike

As soon as you do not detect any "sewage" smell coming from the aeration bubble boil......assuming you installed a bottom diffused aeration system.

Yes it is a bottom aeration system. It is a Poseidon 1\4 HP compressor with two 12" Poseidon diffusers. We just moved in about a year ago but the pond has been neglected for many years. The previous owner had horse's up hill from the pond so that didn't help things. There are also lots of cattails around the pond. When. We got the place you could hardly even see the pond. I am planing on going after the cattails this fall. I would like to keep some of them as they are beneficial waterfowl nesting sites. The water temp this morning was 46 at the surface and 42 at the bottom. Not sure how accurate those temps are as we got 1 3\4 inches of rain over night.

Fire it up and run it 24/7. You should be able to stock trout asap.
If your water temp was different, I'd have a different answer for you.
