Sorry if this isn't in the right place but not sure where it would fit. Does anyone know somewhere that you can send water samples to and they can test the water quality and give you a report? I saw a few places online.
The lake I live on is a 100 acre former gravel pit...the bass fishing is beyond great never get skunked..(once in 2012)and 90% of the time you at least hook one over 5 pounds.
I want to do a shock study but that will have to wait for next year..only about 4 people on the lake care about the fishing the rest think it would be a waste so I will have to pay for it out of pocket. I have some theories about the lake but no bass are ever taken out...no stocking of any kind for 20 years..it isn't normal so I would like to start to understand the lake better and see if the size of the fish can be bumped up some...lake is in Indiana FYI.

Start with University Extension for information about any universities that might do it. Check with the health department where private well samples can be sent. They should have a list of testing labs in IN.

Try Purdue, if not I believe Texas A&M does testing. If Purdue doesn't, then let us know and I'll bet someone can come up with a place for ya.
I tried going the well water testing route in Starke County, but all they'd test for is nasties, when I asked them about all the other parameters that are needed for pond management he looked at me like I was asking for a 2 headed snake.
There's a good article about pond water in this months Pond Boss Magazine. If you don't subscribe, at least call the office and order this months issue. (But, I'd subscribe - there's a LOT of information in each issue.)
