I've always assumed the black salty was a goldfish. Looks just like the many thousands of operpopulated brown goldfish I've pulled out of goldfish ponds over the years.
12 ac pond in NW Missouri. 28' max depth at full pool. Fish Present: LMB, BG, RES, YP, CC, WB, HSB, WE, BCP, WCP, GSH.
