Recently purchased 63 acres of raw land (power on prop, but that is it). Have one small stock tank but would like to build a 2-3 acre pond for fish and fun.
Rockdale TX is about an hour east of Austin Tx.

2 pond related things to consider(actually lots of things) are runoff area and soil composition.
What are your plans for the place?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Welcome Ken from deep east Texas.Finished digging my 2 acre pond exactly one year ago today on Halloween!! Stocked 1 inch fish in February. Feed them every day and am already catching them about 8 inches and weighing 1/2 pound. Stocked Coppernose blue gill.I learned EVERYTHING here from dig to food. Ask lots of questions.
