How do spotted bass do in a small pond?How do they compare to LMB as a pond fish?.....Joe

If they do not have to compete with LMB, they would probably fair well. In competition with LMB, they wouldn't do well. They have spawning needs closer to SMB as well, another thing to consider. Most people probably don't stock them as they don't get as large as LMB or SMB.

Thanks...I have a river nearby where I cath some 1 1/2# spots.Thought they might be good BG eaters that won't reproduce much...Joe

Just remember, their mouths aren't as big as LMB so they will not be as effective predators on BG.
