I won the pvc fish attractors at the silent auction and have been putting them together the last couple of weeks. I have put together six now and have nine more to go. Nate or anyone else that has experience with them have any specific advice on placing them. I am making them different sizes for different water depths anywhere from three to ten feet in diameter so far. I may make some even larger ones for deeper water. I guess the bottom line is do they work? I also wanted to ask if you all were anchoring them with a rock or something?

They work well in groups.
Think in 3-D as that's how fish live.
Review the archive on structure especially the end where the discussion on structure goes over the different types like humps , ditches , saddles , points etc.
Try one (like a 5 ft one) in deep water (18 feet) but with 3 bottom pieces forming a bottom triangle to stand on that are 10 feet. It looks like a big mushroom with the top about 3 feet under water. You can put each of the 3 feet in a 2 gal plastic plant pot (free from most nurseries) with quickcrete. That way you can move it around to different places. Mark it with a duck decoy.

Fish do hang around them, but I don't think they are as good as plain old trees.
Good morning Dave, I've checked the ships systems, and everything appears to be running normally.

James, they work great to hold fish if in groups of 3 any less and we have had poor success. The center piece use a shorter piece of pvc this allows the attractor to stand up better and not roll as easily. ON the short pvc slide on a three hole brick and glue on a Tee to hold it on. I would not worry about too deep of placement not much use after going farther than half the max depth of the pond.

James, ... I would not worry about too deep of placement not much use after going farther than half the max depth of the pond. I disagree. That may be true when there is a thermocline in place (summer)but not the rest of the year. I catch plenty of LMB , BG/CNBG and RES (big ones)off of deep water (12-15 feet)xmas tree and pallet structures during winter , fall and spring (pre and post thermocline). Also not true if you have an aerated pond. Further deep water structure works well in clear deep ponds and through the ice up north. Also James has crappie who relate to deep water structure well. I would put most 70% of the structure in water 10 feet or less. But do not just write off the deep water as it can be productive. James get a wire brush attachment for your drill and rough up the pvc as things grow better on pvc when not so slick.

Thanks guys I am still putting them together on dry land. i have way underestimated the amount of pvc these things require. The ten footer required over one hundred feet of pipe but its only a dollar for ten feet
